farm fresh tapas, craft cocktails, local wine and beer
We at Azu believe the best dishes are made from fresh ingredients. We look to the local farmers that we know grow quality organic and natural produce, that help give our menu that special California twist. Our bar menu is filled with craft cocktails with juices squeezed right from Ojai's citrus orchards. We feature over 25 wine's by the glass and tasting room on the weekend's featuring the local wines from The Ojai Alisal Vineyard.

a private salon dinner party on Friday January 27th at
Azu restaurant and tapas bar located at 457 E Ojai Ave,

There are five table topics available, each of which
circles a unique conversation inspired by THE SACRED MASCULINE.
Eco-Masculinity: The Earth’s Prayer will be led by Pandora Thomas, Teacher & Speaker, Co-Founder of Earthseed Consulting, Black Permaculture Network and co-author of Shades of Green; Awakening Creativity: Mindfulness, Masculinity and the Power of Play will be led by Dawa Tarchin Philips, modern lama, author and transformational leader; Fire & Ink: The Pen is Mightier Than the Sword (Or the Shrink) will be explored by writer and writing coach Bruce Gelfand; Restoring The King: Power Through Partnership will be co-hosted by Deirdre Hade, Spiritual Teacher, Mystic, Author, Poet and William Arntz, Filmmaker, Author, Visionary; while Energy Economics: Growing Conscious Business will be explored by Gunnar Lovelace, founder & co-CEO of Thrive Market.
You and your guests are invited to choose which conversation you would like to join. There are just twenty-five seats available, so please make your reservation as soon as possible.

Over thirteen years ago, Laurel Moore opened the doors of Azu, Ojai’s original California Tapas bar, restaurant, and event venue. Moore’s vision translates the best cuisine of the Mediterranean into an exclusive, Ojai-sourced menu. She lovingly restored downtown Ojai’s Bill Baker’s 1910 building, and in turn created Ojai’s eponymous gathering place for community, curious foodies and wine lovers. Her daughter, Elizabeth Haffner came on as general manager in 2006 and together they have built a warm, creative environment filled with inventive dishes and a family-like atmosphere where locals catch up at the end of the week, and visitors to Ojai find an easy mix of casual sophistication, flavors of local soil, and the valley’s most extensive wine list.
Executive Chef and Owner Laurel Moore strive's to provide the tastiest and freshest ingredients while preparing her dishes with the pure natural flavor of local farm driven produce and flavors of Spain, the Mediterranean and North Africa. We offer Organic, Vegan, Gluten Free, Vegetarian as well as healthy nutritional options for kids. We cater to couples nights out, breakfast, lunch, large parties, wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, wedding brunch, happy hour connoisseurs, anniversary celebrations, outdoor dining, tapas tastings, wine & beer flights.
Whether you are looking to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city or are an Ojai local in need of a special night out, our destination style atmosphere and farm fresh California Tapas, fresh juice cocktails, and local wine and beer, is the perfect place to find sanctuary within a culinary inspired establishment.
Due to California water crisis Golden State Water Company has asked us to cut our usage by 36%. We are watering our plants with grey water and we have installed new dishwashing equipment which is more efficient and uses 50% less water then our old dishwasher. We are serving beverages in glasses with ice upon request. Ojai has no outside water source, what we have is all we have until we get more rain. Chilled Glass Bottled Water is $1.50 which is at our cost. Azu is not making any profit on selling bottled water. We are just trying to do our part to conserve water. Summerland Cafe in Montecito has instituted a similar water policy and is saving up to 1,500 gallons of water per week by having customers buy water at cost and save on washing glassware and using far less ice. Read more about it in the Montecito Journal. We appreciate your contribution to saving our Ojai water.
